I'm Shijina, a designer and founder of Shie Design. I bring design and development together to build useful, considered websites for businesses in Dubai and beyond.

The short version

Curious by nature, careful with the details.

I started working in Dubai in 2019. Since then, I've worked with teams in hospitality, fashion, property and technology. I enjoy learning what makes each business different, then shaping a website that feels true to it.

Shie Design is a small independent studio, so I stay involved throughout the project. You'll work with me from our first conversation and early sketches through to the final checks before launch.

I work in English and Arabic and move between design and development every day. That means visual decisions and technical details are considered together, rather than handed from one team to another.

The Journey

2019 to today.

  1. 2019

    Started freelancing

    I began taking on client work in Dubai and learned what it takes to see a project through, from the first conversation to launch.

  2. 2020

    Focused on UX design

    I spent more time learning research, user flows and product design, and began working on dashboards and digital tools.

  3. 2021

    Brought motion into the work

    I started using GSAP and WebGL when motion helped explain an idea or gave a website a little more character.

  4. 2022

    Worked with more hospitality and property teams

    Projects with hotels, fashion houses and property groups helped me understand how different businesses connect with their customers.

  5. 2023

    Added brand identity to the mix

    I began taking on more identity work, bringing the same thinking to logos, websites and the details in between.

  6. 2024 – 2026

    Bringing design and development together

    Today, I work across brand identity, websites and product design, with a focus on thoughtful details and a practical build.
